Pet relief area & accessibility
Vancouver International (YVR) maintains an indoor post-security pet relief area in the International Terminal between gates 50 and 51, plus outdoor relief areas with grass at the Arrivals curb of every terminal. YVR is the most pet-friendly Canadian airport and publishes a Service Animal Relief Area map on its official website. The airport also supports inbound pets through the Canadian Food Inspection Agency office near the cargo complex; transit-through-Vancouver pets travelling on Air Canada or WestJet are usually processed at the gate without entering the cargo facility.

Before you fly
Confirm your airline's pet program before you book — every carrier publishes a slightly different cabin carrier limit, in-cabin pet count, and breed-restriction list. Browse the airline pet policies for the carrier you plan to fly, and review the guides library for country-specific import rules and carrier preparation tips. The information on this page is editorial and should be confirmed with the airport's official passenger services desk before travel.
