Pet relief area & accessibility
Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) operates 14 indoor and outdoor pet relief areas across its nine terminals. Every terminal has at least one post-security pet relief area; Terminal Tom Bradley International (TBIT) has two. Outdoor relief areas are located on the upper (Departures) and lower (Arrivals) curbs at every terminal, and a large grassy relief area is also available at the LAX-it ride-share lot for passengers leaving the airport. LAX is one of the few US airports that offers both fire-hydrant markers and synthetic turf in its indoor relief areas, plus refrigerated water dispensers in some locations. If you are connecting through LAX with a pet, ride the LAX Shuttle bus on the lower-level curb to reach the next terminal — the bus is wheelchair-accessible and allows pets in carriers.

Before you fly
Confirm your airline's pet program before you book — every carrier publishes a slightly different cabin carrier limit, in-cabin pet count, and breed-restriction list. Browse the airline pet policies for the carrier you plan to fly, and review the guides library for country-specific import rules and carrier preparation tips. The information on this page is editorial and should be confirmed with the airport's official passenger services desk before travel.
