New York, United States · IATA JFK · ICAO KJFK

Pet relief area & accessibility

New York JFK operates post-security pet relief areas in Terminals 1, 4, 5, 7, and 8 — every passenger terminal currently in operation. The Terminal 4 relief area near Concourse B gate 25 is one of the largest at any US airport, with synthetic turf, drainage, a fire-hydrant marker, and seating for the handler. Outdoor relief areas with grass are located on every lower-level Arrivals curb and at the AirTrain station for passengers transferring between terminals. JFK is a hub for Delta Air Lines (Terminals 2 & 4) and JetBlue (Terminal 5), and inter-terminal transfers happen on the AirTrain people mover; pets in carriers are allowed on the AirTrain at no additional cost.

Before you fly

Confirm your airline's pet program before you book — every carrier publishes a slightly different cabin carrier limit, in-cabin pet count, and breed-restriction list. Browse the airline pet policies for the carrier you plan to fly, and review the guides library for country-specific import rules and carrier preparation tips. The information on this page is editorial and should be confirmed with the airport's official passenger services desk before travel.
